University of Minnesota Libraries

The University of Minnesota Libraries is a strategic resource for the University of Minnesota and is one of Minnesota’s greatest intellectual assets. Composed of 12 library buildings with collections greater than 8.2 million volumes, the Libraries has a history of strength in research collections and a longstanding record of contributions to resource sharing within the state and beyond. The Libraries’ Archives and Special Collections is one the largest in the country with incredible breadth and depth comprising over 100,000 linear feet of material and covering subjects ranging from performing arts to children’s literature to the history of computing to immigration history to the YMCA. The Kautz Family YMCA Archives at the University of Minnesota collects, preserves, and provides access to the records of the YMCA of the USA and related historical material.
