Framed collection of carte-de-visite memorial cards depicting the life and death of President Lincoln. In the top half, the American eagle is surrounded by two portraits of President Lincoln. The bottom center card shows the apotheosis of Lincoln, with George Washington welcoming Lincoln into heaven with a laurel wreath. On the left is a photo of Lincoln's family. The bottom right card is a photo of Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth, by photographer Alexander Gardner.The carte-de-visite are presented in a decorative wooden frame with ivory inlays.

Poster announcing requests by the Board of Trustees of the City of Ilion [NY] related to the observance of funeral ceremonies on April 19, 1865. The Trustees request that businesses be closed and flags flown at half-mast, and that citizens "refrain from the performance of secular employments," attend religious services, and display "some emblem of mourning."

White Silk Mourning Badge
This white silk mourning badge was produced to commemorate Lincoln's death. It shows a black image of Lincoln with the words "We Mourn a Father Slain" and the caption "Abraham Lincoln,Born, February 12th, 1808 [sic]. Died, April 15th, 1865." Note that the date of Lincoln's birth is incorrect. Handwriting in ink on the back states, "From the [illegible] Lincoln Collection-Mourning badge [woven?]-Washington D.C."
